About the Texas Coalition Against Datacenters

"Texans Standing with Texans"

Our team met in early 2026, as concerned residents of McLennan County, Texas who were concerned about the Infrakey Datacenter being proposed in Lacey Lakeview, Texas. This project, like many other hyper scale datacenter projects being proposed across the Lone Star State, was asking for enormous resources and had been navigating their effort "behind the scenes", leading to large public distrust.

As the year progressed and more datacenters were being forced into rural communities, our group realized there needed to be a state-wide response and a place for grassroots efforts to come together against this very well funded campaign that is threatening our state's resources.

After a rally in Austin, Texas to show our sincerity and to make an ask of the state - a special session to put protections in place - we decided to formally create the group and launch a Facebook page for the many datacenter opposition groups to share their thoughts and navigate complex issues - like filing FOIA requests, learning the recall process, and making submissions to the state bodies that regulate water, power, and zoning.

It is an ongoing movement, but at the center of it all is a love for Texas, for agricultural communities, and government transparency.
