Alright - so - in case you missed it, the latest Bernie proposition is him selling out on this issue.

These companies are seeing their public opposition rise and their profits stall, and are literally making offers to people who would be considered the most radical members of the opposition.

“If you stop trying to derail the datacenters and our work we will ‘share the wealth’.”

It’s disingenuous. It’s misleading. And it’s not the issue.

I don’t think they understand. We - at least in Texas - are not interested in a payout. We want the land, the water, and the safety of our state secured.

Don’t endorse that message. Don’t do the same thing that has allowed for this expansion in our state - the selling out of principles for the promise of money.

The only thing right about the message is that Ai is theft of intellectual property - but my work, and the work of so many others, was never for sale to these companies. And it’s not going to be resolved by any offer that allows for that deception and manipulation to continue. I’m not comfortable saying, “yeah I’ll take stock in your crimes”.

That’s a hard pass for me.

Senator Sanders' recent statements regarding data center expansion and its impact on public utilities:

- December 12, 2025:

Sanders warned that "oligarchs" intend for citizens to subsidize data centers through increased water and electric bills, urging Americans to oppose corporate interests that prioritize profits over people.

- December 16, 2025:

Sanders officially called for a moratorium on data center construction to allow for democratic oversight, ensuring technological benefits serve the general public rather than just the wealthiest 1%.

- January 3, 2026:

Sanders advocated for slowing the expansion process, citing the excessive strain that rapid infrastructure growth places on the power grid and household budgets.

Current developments suggest a concerning trend of Big Tech and data center stakeholders influencing political figures at the local, state, and federal levels.

While some may see financial incentives as a benefit, these compromises often overlook the long-term costs to our communities.

Money cannot replace our essential resources.

If our farms and ranches are lost to this expansion, we lose our ability to produce food and natural materials like cotton.

Furthermore, financial compensation cannot restore health or replace homes and land taken for - a catch phrase -  infrastructure.

That's being over used way to much to justify the action

I thought the Government was

We the People and was not for sell

We deserve better representation and a commitment to protecting our resources and our health over corporate interests. As Texans standing with Texans, we must prioritize the well-being of "We the People" over the influence of Big Tech.

Again money will not help you

If you lose your home on a farm and ranch

It will not get you the water back

It will not get you cotton

It will not help you after you get sick by these data centers

I can go on and on ....

This below is no compromise even
