Let's chat

I am sharing maybe what I am seeing with you, which reflects a strong sense of national unity and resilience.

The message emphasizes that despite our internal differences or the challenges we face, Americans will always stand together with pride. It serves as a reminder that this nation remains strong and united from coast to coast.

Additionally, I am sharing how this is reflective in the recent data regarding growing public opposition to data center construction in Texas and across the United States.

Reports from April and May 2026 highlight significant concerns regarding the impact of these facilities on local communities and infrastructure:

- Public Sentiment: A May 2026 Gallup poll indicates that 71% of Americans oppose local AI data center construction.

-Similarly, a University of Texas study found that only 30% of Texans support having these facilities in their communities.

- Grid Stability and Costs: 72% of respondents expressed concern over rising electricity costs. With ERCOT predicting peak demand could quadruple by 2032, there is significant anxiety regarding the strain on the state's power grid.

- Resource Consumption: Approximately 64% of those opposed cite water scarcity as a major issue, with estimates suggesting data center water consumption could reach 161 billion gallons annually by 2030.

- Quality of Life: Residents in cities like San Marcos and Hood County have raised concerns regarding noise pollution from industrial cooling units, leading to increased grassroots resistance.

Legislative action is already underway.

This past April, the Texas House Committee on State Affairs held hearings to investigate the industry's impact on national security and grid reliability.

I see this same unity in other States around the US...
